One of the most rewarding parts of my work as a business and confidence coach is getting to champion the amazing people I support, and today I’m delighted to introduce one of my coaching clients: Sibylle Clerey, the founder of Sibylle Clerey Interiors, based right in Newcastle.
Sibylle launched her interior design business in 2020 and has since built a reputation for creating distinctive, characterful and beautifully curated interiors for both residential and commercial clients. Originally from Switzerland,
Sibylle brings a subtle ‘je ne sais quoi’ to every project she works on. Her European design influence gives her work an effortlessly stylish, considered, and high-quality feel that her clients absolutely love.
From individual rooms to full-house design projects, Sibylle offers a complete service, including design, procurement and project management, tailoring every detail to her clients’ lifestyles and aspirations. On the commercial side, she has worked with cafés, independent shops, wellness clinics, offices and more, bringing spaces to life through thoughtful, functional and atmospheric design. Her talent has also caught the attention of estate agents, property developers and architects across the region, who regularly call on her to elevate their spaces and add value through exceptional interiors.
But like so many business owners, the creative side came naturally—while the business side presented a few challenges.
Why Sibylle decided to work with a coach
When Sibylle first reached out to me, she shared that she struggled with sales, visibility, and putting herself “out there.” She loved her work, had a growing portfolio and strong client results, but lacked the confidence to fully step into the business owner role. This is so common among talented creatives—confidence, selling, and self-promotion often feel uncomfortable or overwhelming, especially when your business is still building momentum.
Through our coaching sessions, we worked on:
Building clarity around her services, pricing and positioning
Developing confidence around sales conversations
Strengthening her mindset and self-belief
Creating simple, sustainable habits that support growth
Overcoming mental blocks that were holding her back
Encouraging visibility through marketing, networking and sharing her work
Little by little, Sibylle began to make powerful shifts. Her confidence grew. She became more comfortable talking about her work. She started sharing more on social media. Sales conversations felt more natural. And with that, her enquiries increased and her business began to feel far more grounded and enjoyable.
Coaching isn’t about teaching someone how to do their job—Sibylle already had incredible talent. It’s about unlocking what’s already within them, removing the internal barriers, and helping them access the clarity and courage they need to grow.
Sibylle’s thoughts on coaching
Hearing the transformation from the client’s perspective is always the most rewarding part. After a few months of working together, Sibylle shared this:
“Sam has been a game-changer for me. Her practical advice, support, and clear insights have helped me focus on what matters and reach goals I didn’t think were possible. I now feel more confident and capable thanks to her coaching.”
For me, this is exactly what coaching is all about—giving people the tools, the clarity and the confidence to move forward in their business with purpose and belief.
